Mysterious Post-COVID Symptoms Aren't All in Your Patients’ Heads

How to recognize postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome—and treat it.

Many patients who are recovering from COVID-19 will experience long-term effects. Among these effects are chronic fatigue, brain fog, dizziness, and an increased heart rate. Some of these symptoms are caused by postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), a blood circulation disorder. In this Mental Health Minute, Tae Hwan Chung, MD, explains the symptoms of POTS, and the best treatment options.

Dr Chung is assistant professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Johns Hopkins Medicine. He has a second appointment with the department of Neurology.
