In his excellent essay, Head Case, in the March 1, 2010 issue of The New Yorker, Louis Menand discusses the various issues associated with psychiatry and the influence of the pharmaceutical industry. Is psychiatry a science? The author explores both sides of the issue and provides a brief history of psychiatry and the influence of pharmacotherapy.
