Here, Dr Ira Steinman discusses the concept behind an upcoming conference, "Beyond Pandora's Box: Exploring Integrative Approaches to Treating Psychosis." With a focus on integrative approaches to psychiatric illnesses, especially schizophrenia, the conference will highlight psychotherapeutic approaches in addition to evidence-based practices and judicious use of antipsychotic medications to treat patients experiencing hallucinations, delusions, and psychotic thinking.

Dr Steinman is a psychiatrist in Private Practice in San Francisco, specializing in the Intensive Psychotherapy of Schizophrenia and the Severely Disturbed.
