Three recent studies on Alzheimer disease investigate links to sleep, seizures, and proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).[1-3] New evidence strengthens the link between poor sleep and Alzheimer disease; abnormal brain activity, typically seen in patients with seizures, is also evident in those with Alzheimer disease; and a recent trial shows PPIs do not increase the risk of dementia.
