Finding Meaning

One doctor shares his musical background and the joys of finding your voice through music.

Music has a number of therapeutic qualities and can even help us find meaning in life. In this installment of More Than Medicine, Heidi Anne Duerr, MPH, associate editorial director for Psychiatric TimesTM, interviews Jeffrey Becker, MD, about his musical background and the joys of finding your own voice through music.

Dr Becker is cofounder and chief scientific officer at Bexson Biomedical, Inc., who has over 20 years of research and clinical experience in NMDA-receptor pharmacology and clinical use. He was one of the first MDs in the United States to administer and document ketamine for depression in the clinic, and he is a world-recognized speaker and expert in the clinical use of ketamine.
