Reflections on the mental health of those in blue who serve...
POETRY FOR INCLUSION
Uniforms share
narratives of service
unpredictable days
and incessant
family prayers
a familiar script
for the thin
blue line
Blue mental health
handcuffed
by stigma
a chronic pandemic
lingering in secret
trauma saturated
faces covered
by invisible
masks
Split decisions
and inevitable
bloodshed
Ambien is
of no solace
hearts of
suppressed emotions
quiver
a therapeutic ear
awaits transparency
