The 55th Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Psychoanalysis and Dynamic Psychiatry will take place in Honolulu, Hawaii on May 12 to 14th, alongside the APA meeting. The AAPDP is an organization composed of psychiatrists who are interested in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. The theme for this meeting--Psychodynamic Approaches to Treatment Resistance and Therapeutic Obstacles-- reflects the association’s strong clinical and psychodynamic orientation and strong affiliation with the American Psychiatric Association. It also reflects its efforts to promote and maintain psychotherapy as an integral part of psychiatric practice and the Academy’s efforts to promote greater training of psychodynamic psychotherapy for psychiatry residents and early career psychiatrists.
This year the Academy has made efforts to design a program that promotes interaction and strong audience participation. Psychiatry Residents and medical students can attend for free and there is a discount for psychoanalytic candidates.
