I was reading an article about 9/11 and learned that the first plane hit the North Tower
of the World Trade Center at 8:46 AM. My mind immediately shifted to the symbolism of this time regarding the modern-day lynching of George Floyd. These are 2 eerie moments in our history in which the time to breathe was obstructed by crushing blows to humanity.
May this poem inspire reflection and challenge us to inhale love.
